August Was The Deadliest Month Of The Afghan War

46 NATO and US troops were killed in Afghanistan during the month of August making it the deadliest month of the entire Afghanistan war. This grim news brings the overall casualty count for US and NATO forces to 948 since the war began back in 2001.

America Elected This Man Twice?

So-Called Liberal Paper Bashes Obama

The Washington Post published a story, which quoted from a Tax Policy Center study that found that Obama's tax plan would add $3.4 trillion to the national debt by 2018. The Post's article even goes so far as to call Obama a hypocrite for calling Bush's tax policy "reckless" and that Bush's tax policies have "mortgaging our children's future on a mountain of debt."

This criticism is accurate and fair as far as quoting the study is concerned. However, the Post article neglected to point out the fact that the same study found that McCain's tax policies would add even more to the national debt than Obama's. The same study found that McCain's tax plan would add a whopping $5 trillion to the debt by 2018.

How is that for some media bias?

Americans Prefer Obama's Energy Solutions

A new Gallup poll shows that 64% of Americans would be more likely to vote for a candidate who supported "authorizing a $150 billion investment by the federal government in research on bio-fuels and clean energy sources." This is, of course, the centerpiece to Barack Obama's energy plan. In addition to this, 58% of Americans said that they would be more likely to vote for a candidate who would impose a windfall profits tax on the oil companies.

In contrast to this, only 57% of Americans said that they would be more likely to vote for a candidate who supported "easing restrictions on offshore drilling." This is, of course, the centerpiece to John McCain's energy plan. Furthermore, only 47% of Americans would be more likely to vote for a candidate who would allow more nuclear plants to be built and only 46% said that they would favor a candidate who would "suspend the federal gasoline tax for several months." So, more Americans support Obama's solution to the energy crisis.

45% Of Americans Don't Think War In Afghanistan Was Worth It

A recently released USA Today/Gallup poll said that 45% do not think that the Afghanistan war was worth fighting. This statistic is astonishing seeing as 90% of Americans approved of the war in Afghanistan following the 9-11 attacks.

How can so many Americans possibly think that the war against the perpetrators of 9-11 wasn't worth it?

"Thinking now about Afghanistan, all in all, considering the costs to the United States versus the benefits to the United States, do you think the war in Afghanistan was worth fighting, or not?"
